Dopo aver riscosso un grandissimo successo con il  singolo "Shape of you", che ha battuto ogni record e vincendosei dischi di Platino in Italia e rimanendo dopo oltre 4 mesi nella top 3 della classifica di vendita e di Spotify e top 20 nell’airplay radiofonico, esce il nuovo singolo di Ed Sheeran che si intitola “Galway Girl”, e che già certificato PLATINO grazie alle sue vendite.
Il video di “Galway Girl” ha subuto ricevuto milioni  di visualizzazioni in meno di tre settimane, e al suo interno si vede come protagonista l’attrice Saoirse Ronan, già candidata all'Oscar per il film 'Brooklyn', su una storia scritta dallo stesso Sheeran e girato da Jason Koenig.
Sia Shape of you che Galway Girl sono contenuti nell'ultimo album intitolato ÷, entrato nella storia come l’album di un artista maschile che ha venduto più copie al mondo nel minor tempo.  Infatti  quasi 8 milioni di copie vendute globalmente, in Italia l’album è stabile nella top ten da due mesi ovvero dal giorno della sua pubblicazione essendo entrato direttamente al primo posto della classifica.
